The Gold of Salvation

Imagine digging in your backyard and striking gold. Excited, you keep digging—and there it is, a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.

Now ask yourself: did finding the gold make it real? Or had it always been there, simply waiting for you to uncover it?

This is how I'm understanding salvation to be. Like buried treasure, it’s not something we create—it’s something we awaken to. The beauty of the gospel is that we’re not striving to earn a distant reward. In Christ, salvation has already been accomplished, and it’s been ours all along.

Romans 11:32 says, “God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.”

This mercy isn’t a potential offer—it’s a present reality. Jesus came

“to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10)

And He didn’t leave the mission unfinished. As 1 Corinthians 15:22 says,

“As in Adam all die, even so, in Christ all shall be made alive.”

This good news changes how we see God. He’s not distant or angry—He’s a loving Father who has already restored us to Himself. 1 Timothy 4:10 calls Him

“the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”

The invitation isn’t to earn salvation—it’s to recognize and receive what’s already been given. Ephesians 1:4 says we were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world. Before we knew Him, He knew and embraced us.

So how do we respond? By waking up to what’s true. By letting go of guilt, fear, and striving. By allowing the Spirit to open our eyes to the gold that’s already ours.

Jesus has fulfilled His mission. The treasure is yours. Dig deep, believe it, and let it transform how you live.
